I've never seen so many lights for Christmas in one city in my life! And the wild thing is, I say that when I'm in any of the cities on the Cote D'Azur. Nice, Cannes, Antibes, Monte Carlo- they all go nuts decorating. Who cares if the houses aren't decked out like they do in the states, who's looking there?! The towns have miles and miles of lights that hang over the streets as if the stars themselves fell to earth to celebrate. And they stay up through the February festivals for Carnival! It's incredible. I wouldn't want to pay their electric bill, but ha, I probably do, in taxes. OH well. HO HO HO, boy do I get into the Christmas spirit out here. Yeah, well, you're right, I always do! And yes, we already have our stuff up- the holly the lights the miniature village, we even added a Santa Claus string of lights to our palm trees this year. ( Not as cool as the Santa pictured here, who came to Fayence last year where the Market usually meets. He came in a sports car and threw candy at the children. Haven cried. But then he talked about meeting Santa for months!) Each year we just HAVE to get another decoration. And remember, there's no Thanksgiving. You know how in the states you kind of feel weird putting up your Christmas stuff before Thanksgiving, well here I don't get that feeling! Las Vegas watch out, you're about to get some competition with me! ha ha ha It's getting pretty cold, too, making all the lights sparkle even more. I think we'll be making a fire soon in our fireplace. I do love that smell! And the scent of the pinetrees, um, well that actually reminds me of public restrooms. Why did they have to go and ruin a good smell with public toilet association? Oops, I'm starting to wander...I do that a lot, but when I'm typing it's more obvious. Should I change the title to Randy's stream of Christmas conscienceness? HA.
